Location and Getting Around
Chicago-Kent College of Law is located in Illinois Tech’s Conviser Law Center at 565 West Adams Street (at the corner of South Jefferson Street) in Chicago's West Loop neighborhood, one block west of Union Station (Amtrak and Metra commuter trains) and three blocks south of the Ogilvie Transportation Center (Chicago/Northwestern station for Metra commuter trains). Both train stations are the terminus of numerous Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) bus routes, making it easy to catch a cab, train, or bus to or from practically anywhere in the city or suburbs. Additionally, full-time enrollment at Chicago-Kent includes a Chicago Transit Authority U-Pass that makes getting around inexpensive
For those that drive, the law school's proximity to Chicago's major north/south and east/west expressways—just two blocks east of the Kennedy Expressway (I-90/94) and three blocks north of the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290)—makes commuting easy. Chicago-Kent has discount parking agreements with multiple garages within walking distance of our campus.
Housing
Housing in Chicago is plentiful and relatively inexpensive for a large city. Many students live on their own, while others share residences with friends or family. Chicago-Kent location makes commuting from anywhere in the Chicago metropolitan area easy, convenient, and cost-efficient.
For students who want to live on campus, the Office of Residence Life oversees the functions of residence life, conference housing, and student meal plans.
There are nine residence halls at Illinois Tech, including three apartment buildings, in which 1,400 students can make their “home away from home” while they pursue their education. The residence halls offer a focused and dynamic living and learning environment. In addition, the Office of Residence Life coordinates operational efforts with several university-affiliated Greek houses.
