Maurine Jo Neiberg is a practicing lawyer in Chicago. She concentrates her practice on patent, computer law, copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property matters. Prior to establishing her practice with Jane Freedman Law, Maurine practiced in the areas of intellectual property, patent, and insurance defense law with Latham & Watkins, Holleb & Coff, and Tressler Soderstrom, Maloney & Priess in Chicago. She is licensed to practice in Illinois, before the Northern District of Illinois, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office as a member of the patent bar.
A significant part of Ms. Neiberg's practice has been devoted to counseling clients on computer software and Internet-related issues. She has represented clients in software development agreements, domain name disputes and has helped register clients' copyright in software. She also has an extensive trademark practice. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ms. Neiberg worked as a software engineer, engaged in applied research in artificial intelligence, and wrote software for corporate bond traders.
